Two things...a lot of the credit that Miller gives to us should go to Cougar...as they were very instrumental in creating the offshore cat....We simply moved the bar....

As to Jim8860's question......

We built it.

If you buy it

We'd be thrilled to help in the resoration.

The original "hands" are still around.

Steps are also used for marketing. "Mine has more so it's better" etc.

One step is plenty regardless of size......more steps simply confuses the water flow... But I still only like steps on cats.

and pads on vees. :D

The boat is Akoume plywood/fibreglass composite.....and has as much glass in it per square foot as a Shadow or Chris Cat.....

The wood is sandwiched between the glass layers.

This construction is as strong as anything ever produced.

Same system has been used since the 50īs in sailboats and yes the structural rigidity is more than up to par with any fiberglass boat.. Carbon and Kevlar came into picture in the early 60īs in sailboats mostly the Meter rule racers , why one might ask?
Because of the money involved and usually those building methods have spun off airplanes...remember the WW2 Mosquito P-38 was a cold laminated airplane like Hawker Hurricane.

Great Link Rich. some incredible machinery there, thanks

i just saw the blue and white Lambo powered cat at Sparkys shop here in Michigan. it was getting some TLC and some mods to the cockpit i believe. boat is looking great, its in fantastic shape and should be ready for many more years of use. i really get a kick out of seeing the offshore classics being so well kept.
