I think thats a great idea as well, if you decide to go a little bigger though here is my Formula 311. 502's 70+ mph and with trailer.
It's in the classifieds... http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-5486.html |

That was one of the main reasons why I bought my 1991 311 when I was ready to buy my first boat. Also insurance is cheap on them becasue they are older. Attached is a picture of his 1989 272 (29' overall length) twin 454 330hp that was sold this year for 30K. It was a great rough water boat that still ran 70mph gps. Just my two cents.... Don |

Fountain all the way. But the best one is the one that makes your wife the happiest.

I had 28 Pantera twin, and loved it... I embarassed quite a few 38' boats offshore here in FL!! 10k isn't a bad down payment at all... Keep at it this year, and start shopping next winter...You can be into a cool boat by next spring. |

Re: Best Boat for the Money
I have narrowed it down to three choices. Sonic, Formula, and a Pantera. Im gonna try and stay around the 25k range because my dad said anything more then that is not a smart financial decision. The formula 242 is what Im really looking at, then hopefully sometime in the future I can own a 31 or 35 sonic (dream boat). Someone mentioned one of sharkey's bullets would be a good boat for me can I get a little more information on this as well?
Im not only looking to go fast I want a solid well built boat with a v-berth and something that I can just have a fun weekend out on the water (60 mph would fill my needs, 70 is ideal). |
