i own a 1991 stryker 21 ft and it flies!!!!!!!

would anyone believe my 21 ft stryker runs 115 mph with 496 bbc on 250 nitrous straight as an arrow. Motor makes only 720 hp with one carb and is 11.5-1 comp. I have video of it outrunning a 22 ft eliminator daytona picklefork that has 1250 dynoed horsepower in a from dead idle to quarter mile. It is unbelieveable how it runs. Ive been ruinning it for 10 years and have had problably 10 different motor combos in it, from all aluminum keith black twin turbo, to current motor, 9.7-1 pump gas 572 with one carb and nitrous plate. If you think im bulling you, just come on over and bring your boat. That 115 is at 7500 rpm with , 1.5 gears, 28 pitch bravo one prop. Its a real sleeper.

more stryker info

engine has imco setback box with 3 inch rise and also a 2 inch shortie. Can leave from a dead stop with nitrous controller and not blow out prop. One half more inch of height and it all goes away. Its right where it likes it and handles the best with 5 inch of raised x dim. The reason for raised up hatch is to clear imco custom built large diameter headers and air cleaner. Engine was also raised 3 inches to align up the set back box crank centerline. Prop is throttles up bravo 28 inch super cup. Otherwise it would blow out sooner. Boat is so much fun i cant hardly stand it. It makes me laugh so much everytime someone points their finger at me as they pull up beside me and say go and i blister them so bad. Most cannot believe it . I have had the bottom of this boat worked on also. That only made 4-5 mph though. Just thought yall might want to see this and get the specs on it.

Nice.....lets see some motor pics!

Badbug, that is a slick little boat man. Is the video digital? If so you should post it up on here as I am sure everyone would like to see/hear it run.

Magicfloat 07-29-2007 08:30 PM

Most of you know that the 2150 Stryker was built from the 2150 Hammond molds. Bob Hammond only built one big block 2150,it was Don Brooks who recognized the potential of the molds he bought to utilize big block power in this fantastic George Linder design.A customer of ours built a killer blown BBC for his in the late 80's ,he ran about 110 on the speedo(no GPS back then) I ran it once at 100 plus, handled great, a tribute to George Linder design, still nothing better after all these years

Nice, where did you get the water pressure relief valve and is it reliable?

The one I am looking at is the 28 Equalizer (they say its 29) with twin 502 mags from the factory. I can not find anywhere where that was an option.
What could you tell me about the boat? Is it well built, have any rattles or so on?

1bigjim

I'll have to eat my words, here are some pics I found, it looks like it is indeed a 2800 Stryker Equalizer with twins

thunderusone 07-31-2007 01:18 PM

Mark, Don stopped building the 28 with twins after the guy in Seattle got killed.

Call Kelton Collins at (256) 302-2857. His son and his brother have one. They are up on Sand Mountain in Boaz Alabama. They will both haul azz with 540's I believe. They may be willing to sell one. THey are always buiding new boats and projects. Tell him that John in Nashville told you to call him.

Hi Terry, I spoke to you prior to Kyle buying your boat. He has put quite a few hours on it, but is thinking about selling as his racing doesnt allow him enough time for the boat.

terryw 08-16-2007 01:28 PM

Same here,I think my boat's been in the water 4 or 5 times in the last 4 years.

We race Late model dirt track in the crate motor and unlimited motor class, we also have a UMP Modified that hasn't seen much action this year.

jez350 08-17-2007 01:15 AM

I'm with you Thunderusone on the Stryker forum. Having missed out on Jim's boat, I'd like to be tapped more into a Stryker society so that I can learn more about them & get access to one's that might become available.

What kind of numbers have you gotten out of your set-up? What lower unit are you running?

La/stryker 08-20-2007 12:36 AM

the boat has a stock bravo 1 (upper and lower). runs low 69 to 73 on gps speedo depending on people and weight. 1.5 gears 25p 3 blade mercury mirage prop 4800 rpms. change only the lower with a 1" shorty imco and the boat pics up 3mph with 5100rpm WOT. put on a imco 3" shorty and it requires a 4 blade to plane out. with the 3" shorty labbed 28 bravo 1 prop all else the same in ran 70 to 73mph again depending on weight. 4 blades are not quit as efficient on top end, but will accelerate a lot faster with big power. ran the boat for couple of months with 572 about 700hp (original reason i installed the imco ext box and dual steering). ran the boat with 3" shorty with 2" spacer(1" total up). boat was almost impossible to drive over 80mph because of excessive chine walking, with 3 and 4 blade props mentioned above. btw 4 blade accelerated alot better than 3 with 700hp. removed the 2" spacer, now running with straight 3" shorty 28 labbed prop 700 hp went 93on gps and extremely stable no chine walk. raising the prop made all the difference in stability. at -3" shorty 4 blade was required to plane out 3 wouldnt do it. boat also ran a little flatter with 4 blade, didnt lift the bow quit as much as it used to with the 3 blade. if i forgot anything, ask me and ill try to pass on any info i can on the 2150. also the boat ran 93mph with labbed 28 bravo 1 and 93mph with 32 bravo 1 not labbed with lower rpms. about 800 less rpm's if memory serves me, dont quote me though.
