Damn things float just below the surface. They'll tear the bottom off any fiberglass boat.
When my parents and I used to travel Long Island Sound my job was sit on the bow with binoculars looking for floating debris.
Back in the early-mid 60's you could almost walk across New York Harbor from all the junk.

I had to have a talk with my neighbor down river about tossing logs in the water. Some people just do not have a freeking clue. He was pulling stuff off the bottom then floating it out. Quite a mine field he made for people

The worst I have seen on our river is just a log/limb.We dont even see beer cans floating in the water here. At least we don't have a land mine field like yawl

worst thing ive seen floating in lake MI was one of those forest preserve wooden picknick tables!!!! Barley breaking the surface with the table top. You know someone had to throw that in the water cause i dont see how else it could have got there
