In Nantucket, the town dock is also the place to be. Does have power, and if you are less than 35 feet or so, you may luck out like we did and get a spot at the foot of the main street. Nantucket is second to none as a boating destination. I rate it #1, MV as #2 and Newport tied with Block Island as #3 boating destinations in the northeast.

Just for the record Nantucket is only like 20 miles or so correct from like Oak Bluffs on M.V?? I know you have to pick your day but could a lunch trip be possible???

35 to forty miles from Oak Bluffs to Nantucket as I read off the large scale chart, and we are talking open ocean here. It can get really nasty, really fast out there. Figure an hour there, double it to return, one hour plus for docking arrangements to be made/boats shuttled around (maybe you will be luckier) and a lunch run is not really practical. Three hours just for the run, two hours for lunch, two hours to run after your wives who will go nuts in the shops there, and I'd say why not shoot for the whole day?

Will the 29 be ready in a week? I hope so.
For a day trip, Newport would be fun.

I think Oak Bluffs has high octane, can't remember. Etown has it for sure. Problem: we waited 40 minutes to get gas once, as it is a busy place, last stop before Nantucket etc. Good lunch spots? All over! <gg>

We liked a place about a block from the town dock in Etown, as the deck is high up and from it you can see much of the harbor and village.
