The Extreme is a race-bread, all-out performance boat with a lay-up that's nearly indestructible. The boat is very well-balanced and will do upwards of 80 with a stock 496HO. The beam is a bit narrower than most 29'ers, but it makes up for it in ride comfort, it's certainly a wave slicer. Check 'em out, you won't be disappointed. I've driven a canopied version to well over 90, and it is a very stable, yet nimble boat.

Maybe Lavey is equal, they bag $$ thier 2750 as an option. Don't put down money until you look at both.
Did you get your boat? I wanted to see it

To echo an earlier post, the Y2k has a very large cockpit. Im not sure of the measurements, but for a 7' beamed boat it is spacious. Part of the reason is because the sides of the boat arent too think and there's not side deck. You can easily seat 4 in the back and have 2 up front.

Have you considered a 29' Kryptonite at all. They are very sharp and I hear they run really well(single engine). Just something to kick around.

If you are only interested in going fast, the extreme is the way to go.
