25 outlaw

Just curious can anybody tell me what kind of ride to expect from a 25 outlaw, live in upper FL, waters get choppy and sometimes ruff, big cruiser boats everywhere putting huge wakes out, etc... just wondering what kind of ride to expect.. also wondering are the dual ram trim tabs that come on outlaws ok or not worth a damn, whats the big difference between those and k-planes? thanks in advance

I would like to know this as well, but Im afraid the best answer is going to be "you need to take a ride in one" rittsbaja25

I had a 25' and was very happy with it.I don't think you can find too many boats in that size range that will give you a better ride,I think you would be happy with it. .02 cents

I had a 25OL for over three years and used it extensively here in Tampa Bay and the Gulf with little to no problems on most days. You'd be hard pressed to find a better riding 25'er. It's a simple straight vee, 24deg, well balanced boat with a fair amount of weight. Not the quickest, but well-suited for choppy waters. The twin ram tabs aren't great, I always wished they were longer, but they are effective.

For that size they are as good as it gets, everyone I know that has had or has one loves them.

I had a 99 for a few years. I boat in the short chop of the Great South Bay and at times the ocean. Replaced the boat with a 29 Fountain. But, the Outlaw was a pleasure. I handles all kinds of snot head on and in following seas. I mean a good bit of snot. 4 - 5 footers at reduced (50 mph) speed. Quartering seas ok to a point, then slam slam. It had a 502 415 hp in it and ran a honest 67. I added latham steering and it was rock solid above 63. The paint did fade (i waxed it all the time), if the swim platform is painted plan to repaint it or powder coat it(newer years came powdered), and water drips on the engine at the back or stern side of the sunpad (hinge stops in before the middle) - everything else was tops. Good luck.

We saw four guys airing out a 25 Outlaw most of the day in 3-4's some 5's at the Chicago Poker Run a few weeks ago. Unbeleivable. Nice looking boat, owner sounded happy with it.

I have a 24 outlaw and it rides real nice for the size. You should be happy with the 25.. .But, be ready to upgrade in a few years--- I've got the itch bad!

rittsbaja25 are you looking to buy a baja or do you already have one? I know where there is a sweet one for sale serial #1 from Baja will do 115mph and already has k-planes on it.
