Default Boat ramp locations in Chicago?

Ok, as some of you may know, my boat has been sold. The buyer is coming up from Havasu and would like to water test it. The demo will be done after the paperwork is signed. The bank we will be using is located in Wheaton on the west side of town. When the buyer leaves he ill be headed back Suth on I-55. Is there any water in the area that we could launch and test the boat? I'd hate to drive all the way across town to launch on the big M. If we do have launch on Michigan were would there be a good ramp? How are the roads? I remember there being some construction and the existing roadsjust sucked in this area.

Cord, I'd probably talk to Candyman or MrCig and launch on the river down by Alsip....this way you can have some calm water and not hit the big-M
And it would be Fairly close to I-55 for the guy to go back home on

I spoke to PB this morning and he recommended a simular thing. Looking at the map, he's recommending that I launch into the Calumet canal at the town of Worth. Basically the ramp is at 115th and Harlem. Looking at the map, I see a toll on 294 just outside of Justice. If I continued on I-55 past 294 and exited onto La Grange I could then avoid the toll and be close to my destination. Or is the distance too great to not be worth extra effort?

Alsip or Worth would be good locations. Use the west side courtesy docks. The east docks are good but there is some low spots. Alsip is only a mile and a half from the 294/ 127th St. exit. Let me know if you need additional info.

It would be quicker to continue on 294 South to the 127th st. exit. PB may not like the alsip launch because it is a steep ramp. I use to launch the Fountain there with a two wheel drive van.
