Looks fantastic - congrats!

Why did it take over a year to get documentation for the boat?

1.5 drives x 23 pitch x 4800 rpms = 70 theoretical,

That would bring the math closer but still a stretch.

1.36 x 23p x 4800 = 77 with 0 slip.

Not trying to burst his bubble, just the facts....

lets see I heard two checkmate storys while up at the 1000 islands run a week ago, one guy is running 502 carbed on a 25 checkmate with a 23 3 blade says 72mph ok that is slightly beleivable, then he said he meant a guy with a 28 checkmate that has a built 502 running a 23 that does 100mph not so beleivable

I can only tell you what the instruments tell me... I have no need to lie. .... I said the rpms were 4800 per the tachs. They are Keith Eickert dual tachs that have to be "adjusted" to indicate correctly. I know they are accurate to 3000 (matched to a test set tach). I just don't like reving engines to 5000 rpm under no load to set them there. There may be some error there. As for the props- I recieved them with the boat. I have no idea what has been done to them in their lifetime. The drives are definitely 1.50. I counted the teeth in the cluster gear and drive gear. The GPS is a brand new Eagle by Lowrance GPS & was recieving 7 satellites at the time. I can only quote what the instruments tell me. Everything from now on is a comparison. This is not a race boat so I don't really care if it is the fastest on the lake. That's not why I built it. It was the challenge. If you don't believe that look up "too old sonic project" in the Sonic section and see.
The original title was lost sometime during the rebuild and the sellor would not assist in getting a duplicate title. So I had to jump thru the South Carolina "hoops" to get a title then get Oklahoma to accept what S.C. gave me. I even had to get the local District Attorney to assist me. Now it's done & registered. I'm happy.
