Twins trouble
My other boats were all singles and I never had much problem with them but my inward rotating twins on the new sled are kicking my azz, granted there was alot of wind blowing me around around but still I shouldn't have had the bear of a time I was. docking was a biyotch:eek:

Re: Twins trouble
My twin came inward. Switched it after a few hours running. Not sure how much top end I might have lost...if any, but it handles much better spinning out.

Re: Twins trouble
Yup, most twin set ups that spin in suck around the dock. Especially if they are staggered. Talk with the boat manufacturer and see if they tested the boat spinning out and what you will loose. 2-4 mph isn't bad if you have control.
Just my .02. John S. :D |
Re: Twins trouble
Let them rotate in and buy a long dock line...can't beat top end...just my .02

Re: Twins trouble
Well half the problem I know is not knowing where the hell the outdrives are because the Imco steering doesnt re center or at least stay in the same poss so you can at least orient yourself. I know it just takes a little time but this stuff is totally making me feel like a rookie.

I know this goes against what you think is correct but I have run alot of staggered boats with props spinning in......when you get close to the dock the props actually throw the boat the opposite way that you would think they would so when you get close try using the other engine that to twist it around with. It takes getting used to but if you practice around some rubber bumpers that you can hit with out damaging your boat or anything you CAN AND WILL get the hang of it. Good luck |
Re: Twins trouble
