If you go to our website HORBA:
http://www.historicraceboats.com
and click on our links section, you will see Barcone Marine. A company that does restoration of these old boats. Barcone is owned by our board member Barry Cohen, who also owns Ghost Rider.
Barry took a mold off Ghost Rider and started a boat company called Barcone (Ghost) in Florida. That company was run by Bill Sirois, who was a great racer in his own right and in the end was the guy that throttled for and helped Al Copeland build his racing career in Popeyes.
Barry in the early 70's, gave a ride in one of his Barcone boats to a young restaurant owner, who fell in love with the ocean and ocean racing. His name was Rocky Aoki of Benihana. fame.
Amazing how all this stuff is connected isn't it?
We are hoping that Ghost Rider, the original, will be at next weekends poker run in NYC. We hope everyone will come down and see it.
