we can lock in/cap rate so the fuel oil price wont go any higher.... I was just talking to my neighbor he locked in at $2.19 and I locked in for $2.29 guess I shouldn't complain about 10 cents....

$4.09 at my regular 'marina' gas stop this morning (93 octane)

Street gas (87 octanes) went from $2.51 midnight Tue ... to $2.56 at 7am Wed ... to $2.73 9:00am Wed (2 hrs later!) ... to now $3.09 9:00am Thu and I know they did not fuel up in between 23:59pm Tue. until today 9:00am Thu

Where's that plunger GLH ... it would probably feel better

Seems like the USCG was the first to arrive and the only one's who were prepared to go into this crap and get to work without any delay.

I locked into $2.19/gal back in June with Standard Oil. They have a oil contract feature that guarantees the price for the contract season (usually August - June). They buy the oil at the price and store it until you need it.

I know a few oil supply companies are doing it, but not all. Usually it's the companies that have storage capacity.

I am considering winterizing my boat after this weekend. Usually, I run until the middle of October, but the Gas situation is stupid....

Fear is driving the markets and it is definitely irrational....

Sorry SG I don't understand, how does lock in work, do you buy a prepaid card or something. My parents in NY never mentioned it, is this oil for your home or gasoline for the cars

heating oil or propane companies will lock in your rate if you pre-buy during the slow months....
