Hate to be a downer but I have seen these situations take a bad turn, and the boat owner even though it is not his fault get sited for unsecure load. I hope it does not of coarse but I have seen it quite a few times.

Hopefully his tow vehicle was rated for that much load. I've heard horror stories about insurance companies using that as a reason for not paying.
