Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
Have some concerns about how it will ride in the LOTO soup.
will i get beat to death? Can the boat handle the wave abuse? anything i should be aware of with this setup? Thanks |
Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
it does amazingly well in the slop!
|
Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
it will be a little flighty on the rough days, but the rest of the time it will be a blast.... :evilb: :D :drink:
|
Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh it will!!!!!! The most fun you will ever have with clothing.....
|
Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
3 feet and under and it will ride like a Cadillac. Over that and your passengers better hold on. :evilb:

Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
Mine is for sale with big blocks in the Classifieds. It might be worth considering in the rough water? The extra weight helps keep it down and its 15mph faster than the outboards.

i have a 98 30' with 300x's. its used primarily in the barnegat bay. 100 gals of fuel, 2 3 or 4 people, 15x32 3 blades, 62-6300 rpms, usually 1-2 ft washing machine water its a consistent 100mph boat with a best of 106 and a very conservative set-up. they love chop and dont like swells. i totally agree with what speed2lead said...100%. going to tinker over the winter. its my understanding that by adding a little weight to the nose on the outboard boats it'll run better and faster. boat has perfect manners, has never left me feeling like i'm on the edge of outta control. its my first cat and will NOT be my last. good luck in your purchase. in my opinion its the best outboard cat on the market (pleasure wise) but then again i'm partial

Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's

Quick ?...what are transport charges to the west coast for a cat that that? |

Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
I love the boat and Im sure you will too.
One thing I would consider changeing asap is the drive indicators. Trim is important in these boats and the current indicators on the center consol are going to be worthless. JMHO |
Re: Looking at a 30 ft. Spectre w/300's
Be careful with that tab on LOTO. You really will never use it there. NO flat water
