I've decided to keep my engines that are in my boat and change them up a bit. By that I mean removing the big chief heads and quad setup and changing the pistons, cams,etc...

Just trying to get a ball park figure of what this stuff costs new before I change my classified ad.
I'm looking for a quad rotor set up if you can give me a price?

For twins? I won't break them up. PM me please, I don't want this to turn into a sales pitch. I'm just trying to figure out what these are worth.

I tried to find your add to see what kind of intercooler you have. Usually on the big chief, they use a standard intercooler as well.Do you have the 2.3 or the 3.3 whipples, I can't remember.
As you probably know I bought some new 3.3's this spring, which I love.Have you considered just detuning your set-up for the reliablity your looking for. You should be able to make some great power with a Hydrolic roller cam and mild boost, this would be alot of fun in your boat and be as reliable as the N/A engine. I think your going to find that the market for the whipples is not alot better than trying to sell the whole package, especially if you have the 2.3l version. Just from my experience.
That's alot of good info MC! Thanks. My ad is in the classifieds under the engines dept. I think that they are the 2.3's, but I'm not sure. I know that the innercooler is a Whipple product. I'm not 100% percent sure what I'm going to do yet, but something will be done over the winter. I do have someone interested in my heads, maybe your idea of changing them over to a Chevy-style head will be a winner! Can the pullies be changed on a Whipple to lower the boost?

Yes, very easy, Mine are just held on with four 1/4" bolts. Teague has just about any size you might need it stock. When I built mine Dustin had them drop shipped from teague.
I personnally think you would be really happy with you current motors with chevy style heads and a Hydrolic roller cam and the whipples. They should be very reliable and work great around the docks without dying. They extra HP, over a N/A, would be alot fun also.

Craig..42MTI makes a good point. Its going to be very hard to go back to N/A motors once you have driven your boat with those. Get some good chevy style heads, AFR, Dart, Brodix, ect. Pullies are cheap and can even made custom for your application depending on boost, hyd. roller cam and you got a reliable motor. The whipple'ed 540's we built are now in Moffits Black Thunder with over 250 hrs on them still going strong. They made 7 lbs of boost. Never a problem. Idle at 800 rpm, easy around docks piers ect. What ever you do get a good engine builder to do it. What you seem to save by not using one, ends up costing you more in the long run.
