I'm sure Rbr2328 will chime in. He is the one to talk to, as he owns one, and services others.

It all depends on the boat and what day it was built on. I have worked on a few and most are good. Main thing is check for stringer and transom rot however in 97 most they were built well. Early eighties boats had some issues and late eighties boats had stringer problems due to an odd fuel tank and the way stringers were done to accomodate it. I have a 98 at my shop for sale now if the one you are looking at does not work out. I have run a 89 for 6 years and have run it hard. I replaced the stringers in the rear and the transom in mine after I sunk it(long story). Let me know if I can answer anything else for you.

Thanks rbr for the info. I hope to have more info in a few days. I was told the boat has a 502 and a super charger, runs 92. sounds fast to me but I dont know how much boost, etc. Is python still in business?

I think Jim Clark quit building boats a couple of years ago. If it is a 502 mag with a supercharger then it probably does 82, if it is a 500 hp with a supercharger then it could do 92, just hope it has hydraulic steering.

I think Jim still builds a boat here and there, but nothing too consistent. The hull itself is a good hull, same basic 24' hull as SuperBoat, Sunsation, Pantera, ans many others.

A good friend has ridden on the boat and said it was quick to plane, good ride and he had the GPS speedo at 85 with 5 guys in the boat and it still had more to go. He checked the memory of the speedo and saw 92. Yes it has hydraulic steering.

Not many of them for sale, what would be a fair price for one in good shape.

Thanks Speed

Depending on the condition, and other options mid to upper twenties is about right for that boat. Now that also depneds on what it's worth to you, and to the seller.
