2.) They can't get addresses from the DMV
with your boat registrations.

You can get one address, in person.
(If a boat is found, stolen, missing circumstances.)

3.) Our pictures were perfect and 1/3 of that
price.

Then can you tell me how they get your information to send the initial contact letter? A friend of mine recently was contacted by them this year. He can tell you exactly what day it was because he's only been out on the water 3x this year and has had motor problems......they swooped down while he was heading to downtown chicago....took pics and a few weeks later whala.....the contact postcard arrives.......so how is it that they get your info??? He has NEVER been in a poker run or in ANY organized event either!......and he's not part of any clubs etc....
The ONLY way i see them getting info is from the registration numbers....and his boat is not documented....just a plain normal registration.

I have never asked them for proofs. They send the pictures to my Fort Lauderdale business address. That's the address the boat is registered under. In the past, on the invoices it show my boat registration number and my "Legal" name (Which is extremely confidential due to my mother being very heavily sedated when she picked it). It is not addressed to Gino. I have literally hundreds and hundreds of pictures from dozens of Poker runs and races, and get more all the time. I would have no reason to request anything from Boatpix.

Dino, The same thing happened to a friend of mine with them.
I told our friend who was saying how great Boat Pix was in the over in the Poker Run sect, on the Emerald Coast thread, to check this thread out.

In Florida a company can register with the DMV, demonstrate some "need to know", and it will be assigned a PIN that they can use by calling into DMV and providing a vehicle/vessel number and receive all the data available.

You might try calling the DMV and make them aware of your concerns. They keep records of every request for vehicle/vessel registration info in the event some lunatic uses the info to harm someone. If they got your boat info from DMV this way, file a complaint.

Where is this company located?

State agencies have been selling info on registrations for both cars and boats for some time. I get Nissan dealer ads to this day on a car I owned 5 years ago. Your registration info is public knowledge-boat or car.

Find out where they keep that chopper and blow that mother to little pieces, or cut a hydro line and during the next flight take pics of the flaming crash and send them the bill.

So is this just going to play out here, or has Boatpix been contacted?
