I like the input. I can't wait to see what happends. I think it should be kept at a "run what ya brung" kinda of thing to get a lot of guys to show up. Maybe by addidng weight or running different pitch propellers we can even out the playing feild. Besides in rough water i think a lot of the guys would rather have the 2.5 offshore anyway Due to the lighter weight and much high RPM range. I think a lot of the guys around here are running 3.0liter (250's 300s, 300x's) on there 21-22 foot boats just due to the extreme reliability and much less maintenance and of course those 300x's are by far puting up the biggest numbers. So if you were able to run whatever motor you choose maybe the inspectors can just have the 300x guys prop down some to keep it even. I would love some SOB guys to respond with their input as well.

These are from 1984-1985 20 Years ago, many things have changed since then, there was no 300X, but the max in "A" was 300 HP anyway, I guess this would have allowed the 300 Promax, the 250 optimax, and all of the 2.5 liter outboards Here are those "A" class rules.
Outboards 0-300 hp
Inboards 0-469 CI
Single 4 bbl intake
Cast exhaust manifolds
Merc. cruiser inboards, twin 260 HP Stock only
Modifications move to class "B"
Modifications Include:
Turbo-charging
Fuel Injection, supercharging, stainless steel exhaust manifolds,Gill Cast Exhaust, Hardin p-1000 exhaust, catamaran & Trimaran hull configurations.
Note: Outboard tech info,, all of the Merc. 2.4 engines are 200-270 HP, the 3.4 liter HP engine =340 HP. The 300 and the 3.4 Carb engine = 260 & 270 HP all of the JohnRude 2.6 liter are allowed, the Johnson V8 offshore =400 hp

Brandon - great job out there. I too would be hooked if I got in the seat. Been offered many times but kindly declined. Looking forward to seeing you run next year.

Brandon, It was awesome seeing the SOB's out there! I raced in the US Offshore F class from 92 -94. I was jealous watching you guys from the battleship. Herb and yourself may have opened the door for people like myself to get back into it. Thanks,Tom

I hope that we can get this class goin again and start discussing rules as far as speed restrictions and what to do with the 300X boats. Some of these 21's with 300X's are running speeds over 100mph and thats not going to be very fair against the smaller motors.
