I think you should take any boat that you might buy on a seatrial. I did this when looking for my current boat. I was looking at a 242LS...we went for a ride and had to get a a tow back to port! I didn't buy that boat.

I did look at Bajas (specifically the 232) and ended up with a Formula. I am sold on the quality of Formula Boats.

If you don't mind the somewhat retro looks of the old Formla F-233 Interceptors or Wellcraft Nova 250XL, you would get a very soft ride. The hulls have a lot of flare and big stems. Both hulls are true deep vees and generally had twin small blocks for power. Top speed with the 260 hp motors was about 60 mph. The cockpit configuration of the 250 XL is very open and spacious but no real sunlounge. I used to keep one of these as a spare boat whenever the Magnum, Spectra and F-302 were all broken at the same time. The 233 was a bit prone to porpoising and didn't have the length to bridge the gaps but was a great ride. I spent a bit of effort to re-secure to hull to deck(rubrail) joint with bolts in addition to the factory screws. Good luck.
