02 gladiator

Dose anyone have any info on this boat.... i believe its been for sale for a while but it looks really clean! I am considering trying to sell or trade my gun for it. I would prefer a staggered gladiator but the this one is in the speed range i want and in the price range.

Lots of hours, especially for a V-tech boat. Heard from reliable source they(motors) have been in and out of boat "more than a few times". Nice boat though, and I've seen it up close.

they are not prochargers, they are vortechs.... they are fine if set up correctly just like anything else...

the OSO gladiator is also an 2002 side by side for much less money...

Re: 02 gladiator

I'd personally go with the OSO boat, similar set up without the chargers and the 525 is a big improvement over a 500EFI.

Take the 525 boat and then put a little of the difference in money into cosmetics that you like graphics/interior stuff and you will have a better package, lower hours, and probably still come out lower on price.

do you know how many hours? did you happen to hear what some of the issues were? i love the paint very clean looking boat... judging by the pics!

Re: 02 gladiator

I was on that boat 2 years ago.The boat had vortech superchargers at the time and ran well oner 100mph. Vortech is 100% better than pro-chargers.The bad news is that two years ago that boat was in what I would consider heavily-used ,fair condition. It was painted by Harold @ grafikworx and is a good looking boat that probably needs some TLC (if not done already)

I do like the oso boat... and for the money i dont think you could beat it... but i love the paint and interior on this rig. the vortechs and the fact that the motors have been in and out alot scear me, epically on a 02 boat

Vortechs are very reliable. Ask Bud at Cigarette, he thinks the Vortechs are great. That boat has alot of use, probably accounting for all the maintenance. For the right price, even if you had to freshen up the motors,it might be worth it.

Get some quotes on interior freshening and some simple graphics from Ryan Beckly or similar.

I would bet you could make the OSO boat look the way you like and come out with a 525 powered boat for about $150.000 which is quite a steal for a Glad. fresh 525's fresh interior and some nice graphics to boot.

Ride in one. Talk to anyone who has owned both, and they will tell you the Gladiator is the way to go.(if you dont need a cabin)

probably close to that, but im just gettin kindof tired of buying a quality "new to me" boat and having to do freshen up everything, i really want something that looks good runs good and i can put in and go!

Are you planning on boating this winter or not until spring? If not until spring I'm sure steve wanting to sell his boat would be happy to assist you in having the boat fresh and ready to go when you are ready for boating season to start. I'd suggest calling Steve and just bounce some ideas around, never know what you might be able to work out.

what will a side by side with 525's do..... upper 80's 88 or so?

jtmiller02 10-20-2005 01:44 PM

Re: 02 gladiator

Side by side 500's are 87 range so maybe a little faster, the 525 doesn't give you a ton more power, but its a much better engine package than the 500 is.

Customryder, I've seen the boat on ebay and in the classifieds. I am in the market for a zr or gladiator and was wondring if you could pm me your reserve price and or your bottomline price. Asking price is slightly out of my $ range but...

P.S.- Your boat looks beautiful.

not trying to be a smarta$$ or anything but buy a cc like a concept with twin mercs if what ya want is turn key and go all the times. in performace boats your not always going to be turn key and go sometimes yes but not all the times

The 525 efi is a far superior engine to the 500 efi in many ways !

They are fresh water cooled, & they dyno out at about 540 hp I'm told

Well the add is gone! I did not see it, but we ran with this one in March on the FPC Miami Boat Show Poker Run and it was FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was running well over 100 MPH!

I know of a boat with 500EFI's that has over 350 hours on it with VorTech blowers. Personally I would like to have a set for my boat!

The hours on that Glad. are near(or over) 300. The Motors have been cared for, but how much is really left?

The OSO boat is the way.
