Lets just hope the races are on. I heard lots of the piers were destroyed.

Have you seen the Reach Hotel?
According to the folks at Wyndham (national), the Reach doesn't have any serious damage, just limited phone and utilities. They expect to be back up and operating at 100% on November 1st! I haven't heard if they have a pier or not...but then again, the way I figure it - if there is no pier, I guess I won't have to pay the florist to decorate it

More great news!!!
The way I see it EricG, it is all about you and your woman, who cares if the peir is gone, that is what I come to terms with. I may not have the beach I wanted but at least we will be there with all our friends having a good time. I hope the peir is okay through, it looked sturdy and it was so beautiful. Good luck!

The surge stopped 1 block from the house we have rented. Way too close. Sounds like things should be back together by race week.
