One down, one to go. Put the first one on the dyno this morning. Here's a video a waterheater was kind enough to take.
Horsepower was 683.7 at 5600, and 697.9 ft lbs at 4700. www.h20htr.com/videos/NeilsDyno.wmv |

Re: Video/Pics - Motor # 1 on Dyno this AM.
anybody ever run a dyno with the engine setup as it is in the boat, watching that video just makes me wonder... full dress, water cooled headers, stainless mesh arrestor.... i was just curious if anybody does this to give you a more "in boat" HP number.... i know it would be a logistic nightmare to do some of that stuff, but i was just curious.. :D

He re-built both my engines in my Tiger and has worked on Doc John's NA/598CI's dynoed at 715 HP. He does terrific work at a descent price but he is extremely busy. He is also very thorough when he re-built mine he use to come by the launch to make sure everything was running perfect. A genuinely good guy. |

Andy Costello of AC Performance. As GL said about him and more. He has been building for many, many years. Can't say enough good about his dedication to his work. If you need motor work it would be worth the drive. |

Sean Most of the marine dyno shops do dyno them full dressed . I did mine even with the powersterring pump w/ fluid in it, Also my fuel system so there was no adjustment in the boat necessary..Thats the way Mark at Precision Marine dynos them ,just the way it is in the boat :D It doesn't show real good #'s with the all the asseroys. But at least you know what it makes in the boat and its drop in and run pretty much :D They say the just the CMI over the race car headers is about 25 hp.then you have the alternator, Merc water pump, water circulator.power steering pump  drypipetiger motors sound healthy, Congrats . Maybe JC's spacer can pick ya up some more :D Keep us posted...... Rob :drink: |

Re: Video/Pics - Motor # 1 on Dyno this AM.
Congrats Neil on the new motors.
Fyi We made 10 more hp and around 15 more tq by adding a spacer on my ford 427 stroker motor. Jamie |

JCPerf, Question for you. Note the torque drop in the 3600 rpm range. This seems to be a common occurance in these large bore and large stroke engines. Just want your oppinion on what it may be? Have you and Richie seen the same over the years? Chris |
