I'm staying there as well - tried to rent a Harley or something while I was there but nothing doing, think I'll rent a bicycle instead - could do with a little better fitness anyway!

I spoke to the Key West Chamber of commerce they said that only about 10% of the hotels will not be open. The gal said things are starting to feel a little more normal. There was trick or treating on Duvall, and people were in the restaruants and the majority of the tourist attractions are fine.
If you can not get in touch with your hotel, you can call the chamber at 1800 Last Key or check out their web site, I believe the address is wwwkeywestchamber.org if tthe link does not work just do a search.

Wednesday update...............
from my other half in KW this morning.........
He just left the Reach .... they are closed today but they are cleaning up and should be open for business in a couple of days. NO PROBLEM FOR THE BRIDE ON RACE WEEK.
Casa Marina, has lost major equipment and IS AIMING for Nov. 15th - 20th. My personal suggestion is to call 1-800 WYNDHAM and ask if you can transfer your reservation from the Casa to the Reach, or ask them for advice.
3 other hotels that have lost the 1st floor only, are, Days Inn, Courtyard and Key Ambassador (Key Amb. hopes to open by the 14th) SOME hotels have lost first floor but will be in business.......so my 2nd sugg. is to check in early or confirm, confirm, confirm.
This info. varies slightly from the 1-800-lastkey info., which says the Casa will be open Dec. 1st.
My husband was talking to the Personnel Dir. of Reach/Casa and she is the one saying they are hoping for the 15th, and they are waiting for a major mechanical problem/part to be delivered.... .. All of their operations are below ground level. The Reach is elevated.
SBI has meetings today.......if anything is new, I'll let you know.
Get daily info. from that 800-flakey number
Sorry CAPO but don't give up.......there's still 2 weeks, don't book Vegas.
No news on scooters yet.
