Exactly why I leave the street tires on my 454 'vette. I'd rather burn up the tires than break the rear end.

I ve been thru breaking everything!! The weak link has been the ring gears, It cracks the teeth. I have been replacing them before boom, but being a street car the acasonial trip to the track . I dont mind just breaking the gears .I went thru 2 drive shafts being its 52 /12 long. I bought a Dennys 4340 shaft with 1350 joints It use to break 2nd gear sprags also. The Coan TH 400 trans has the 2.75 first gear4.56gear 28in slick so it has a pretty good hit off the line on the juiceIts heavy
