Best ever powered single 25-30

Ok, I know some of you will say «Go for twin!» but I ended to a conclusion and I tough I'd love to share the INFO. :D

I've been in some runs this summer pushing the 25 Outlaw in some scary conditions. The boat did a great job and I even ended with the title «At the pin, in front of the pack» on June 11th GLH's lake Champlain milk run :drink: . Needless to say the lake was flat

Everybody will claim that Twins, Weight and Length are the only way to go... Something is missing...

My experience with a single screw tells me the problem is Torque vs prop rotation. In big air situations, you will more then likely end all of your landings on one side of the haul with a big BANG! Witch will force you to slow down. :(

I will never claim that a single engine would ever be as good as twins. But from what I have read and experienced, I would affirm that a duo-prop powered single engine would be the best compromise.

To bad VOLVO does'nt offer their DPX High perf drives anymore. To bad Merc does'nt make a stronger Hi-perf version of his Bravo III. They would definitely be the best improvement and investment in a single engine rig. My 2 cents!

Hope some single D-prop runners will pop here!

I imagine a 28 AT savage or 28 Pantera with highpower and a hightech duoprop... what a beast it would be...

Have you tried a left hand prop on your boat? My boat heels to the left until I trim it a little then it levels out. Problem is, in rough water you tend to have the drive tucked in. In rough water I trim to neutral trim which levels the boat out and then lower the tabs as needed. What tabs do you have? A lot of Bajas I see have Bennets. I don't think they are big enough to help on a 25 Outlaw. A set of K-planes makes a BIG difference.

I have the Instatrim (bennet style tabs). For shure, there is some improvements that can be made but still, I think the best solution would be:

I think a Bravo III will fit on the Bravo 1 transom assembly. If you can find someone to loan you a BIII for a few hours why not give it a try?

I know that on my Hydrostream as I felt the boat lifting I could give a little steering input and then straiten out again as I landed. It really kept the boat flying level. That however was an outboard boat with dual cable steering. The Donzi does not react as quickly to this type of input.

Hey JS, my props spin both ways :) Never really noticed a torque problem mind you, there really isn't too much prop in the water once I'm on plane anyway.
