Re: Best ever powered single 25-30
I could be mistaken, but, I was told that there is a BravoIII XR drive that used on some large performance cruisers w/diesel or 525 power.

I'd go with the 29 Activator or 28 Active Thunder
The Activator is claiming speeds of mid 80's with a Merc 525 . |

Most hulls won't carry the nose without positive trim so the drive doesn't work well on them but on cats, the air carries the bow and the drive works real well. Only failure so far was a twisted off vertical shaft and that was due to loading while planing. Airating the drive fixed that problem. I installed a neutral safety switch bypass switch so I can start in gear but with the efi, it will shift into and out of gear with no real problems. The drive was ahead of its time. A new one, redesigned with XR uppers to take more power would be the ticket on lots of smaller single cats for efficiency and speed. |

Hey JS,
The new Velocity 290 with the VR1 hull is pretty sweet. The wife and kids like the 15"flat screen DVD and enclosed head.I like the 83mph on GPS with a 525 efi spinning a 5 blade Hydro prop.It handles awsome in any conditions !! |
