Default Boating in Washington DC in November (Pics!)

Dad was in town with the day off, and I had nothing better to do on Thursday, so we took Monsoon into the city for lunch. I thought some might enjoy the photos from a vantage point most don't get to see:

--Georgetown Harbor (National Catherdral visible over million dollar+ condos)

--Georgetown University Rowing Center (Crew races are right here)

--Watergate Buildings

--Monsoon on the Georgetown Harbor wall.

--The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

--Kennedy Center has a deck/balcony with summer jazz concerts that you can listen to from the Potomac River (if you are into that).

--Shot from the 14th Street Bridge(s) looking toward Ronald Reagan National Airport (tower highlighted)

--RR National Airport; there is a launch ramp at Gravelly Point National Park JUST north of the runway by a couple hundred feet, WICKED place to visit.

--Looking at the 14th Street Bridge(s) from vicinity of RR National Airport (this is where the commercial passenger plane crashed into the ice many years ago)

--New draw-span for the replacement Woodrow Wilson Bridge

--Passing under the construction of the bridge (alternate channel, crap everwhere, a bit un-nerving.

--Probably the most precariously placed john I have ever seen. We got a kick out of this one, as you would not ever catch me using it if I worked on the site.

--Bridge construction; quite the site, especially to get up so close.

--MUCHO nads on those folks working on the project.

--Incredible views of the fall on the way back to the trailer; depressing, but impressive at the same time. I went out again today, and met up with a few OSO'ers. It was a great end of the season; 77* today.
