Wire from BS update.
I received a call from BS this morning at 9am. He said he was at a bank with $7500 in hand. He said the lady said if he did the wire it could take from 24 hours to 7 days to clear in my account. He asked if I wanted the wire or cashiers check overnighted. I told him to get the cashiers check and Fedex it. My secretary received a fax from Pak Mail Burlington with a copy of the cashiers check, the customer receipt and the fedex tracking info. I tracked the package and I will have it tomorrow by 10:30. It all looks good to me. I will post the final update tomorrow. Thank you again to all who helped me in this situation.

Re: Wire from BS update.
If it's drawn on a Canadian Bank, it will still take a few days to clear. When I've gotten canadian money orders, my bank charged me $17 to deposit.
Glad to hear the good news |
Re: Wire from BS update.
Glad to hear this. Lets hope BS just leaves this place. :D

Glad to hear the good news At this point, I think I can deal with a $17 charge. I will call the bank to varify the check when it's in my hands. |
Re: Wire from BS update.
I'm suprised to hear he's sending the $ back. Your very lucky!!!!

My boat has nothing to do with this. This is a past situation that has come to an end. |

As long as B.S really had the funds to present to the bank then any funds he transferred via wire x-fer should be available to you in the matter of a few hours. I do wire transfers from my brokerage account all the time. As soon as they hit my bank they are good. If done in the morning they clear that same afternoon. If done in the afternoon then they usually clear the next morning. Speed is the appeal of a Wire Transfer. It cost more but it's fast and pretty much irrevocable once it hits your account. An international cashier's check on the other hand will likely take 10 to 15 days to wind its way through the American and Canadian banking systems. All a cashier's check proves is that the person writing the check actually presented sufficient funds to have the check issued. Even though it is a cashier's check at any time prior to it clearing their bank they can cancel it and get their money back. I hope he is sincere and that the check turns out to be good. Mine situation turned out well but it sure wasn't fun waiting the two weeks to find out. |
Re: Wire from BS update.
When I use a wire transfer to buy tile from California, it's there, and available in about 30 minutes.

Re: Wire from BS update.
great news....sounds like this might be his first step toward helping himself.

Re: Wire from BS update.
Hope you get your cash LubeJobs. Hopefully B.S. came to his senses.

Re: Wire from BS update.
Got a bad feeling about this. Wire transfers are almost instantaneous, but maybe Canadian banks are different. Cross your fingers.

Re: Wire from BS update.
Keep us posted on FS (formerly BS).

Re: Wire from BS update.
Gino, before you put the Cashiers check in you account, call the Bank and ask them if it is a good check. They will want the check number and they can tell you if it is good immediately. Don't waste your time depositing the check if it is no good. Sounds like it's a bogus cashiers check.

Re: Wire from BS update.
I appreciate all the advice. I probably should have taken the wire but the up to 7 days scared me. I will do what I can to get it checked. I was suprised to hear him on the phone. I actually called me 3 times updating me on every step. I would hope he isn't foolish enought to add a conterfeiting charge to the list. At this point all I can do is hope. I will keep everyone updated.

Re: Wire from BS update.
Make sure the cashier's check isn't a forgery....lot of that going on right now.
Get the issuing bank's phone # from directory assistance, don't trust any # on the check, call the bank and verify it is indeed from that bank. |

In the midst of this Lubejobs goes to Key West and while participating in the Key West Poker run his boat is rammed into by an enraged Phil Lip****z of Cigarette Fame. For some reason OSO doesn't like people discussing the incident and they poof about any thread that talks about the incident. Film at 11. |

I have seen the aerial footage and I believe the cause is STILL open for discussion. I'm not sure who hit who, but LubeJobs did a LONG slide and was lucky(talented?) enough to keep from rolling over.... |
Re: Wire from BS update.
The bad thing about the deleted B.S. thread is that the people that don't come here that often will not know what happened or who he really is :( and will be fresh meat for BS in the future.
Because he is already looking for the next victim or already was working one :( |
Re: Wire from BS update.
Troutly! I'm glad to see YOU back!!!
Sorry... a little hijacking. But I mean it sincerely. |
Re: Wire from BS update.
The only thing we elderlies can do for you youngsters is to give the hint that some people might get a problem if they continue speculating about "bogus", "fogerty"....
If the check is scheduled those members who insulted somebody in the public might get a problem as the legal action concerning the money has found an end but not the question who insulted who. As everybody here knows and certainly agrees: The two letters "BS" stands for Bewildering Surfers and is a general term in the internet - it doesnt stand for any surfer in particular - agreed?!....... Yes? Good! Those who posted statements on a 9-letter-login-poster or even mentioned the full name and included an insult might get a problem - the advise of the admin to stop all foul language is also a hint for all to avoid legal actions against themselves following insults. :eureka: So to find an end: those who have downloaded the thread should not give the downloaded file to any other person. It includes more negative statements than some might wish. Good luck. |

Re: Wire from BS update.
Gino, I have friends in the fraud unit of the Toronto police. If it bounces, send me a copy so they can go knock on BS's door.
Was he wimpering like a sad little girl on the phone like he was when he talked to me after being outed? |
Re: Wire from BS update.
Just a heads up on our Canadian banking system. I am from Toronto. We only have 6 major Canadian banks. When you call the bank branch on the cheque or in the telephone listings, you will get a central clearing office and not the branch where BS banks. The central clearing people are generally misinformed and usually not very helpful. Do not take there word for anything. Make sure you ask to be connected to the bank branch itself. The people at the branch usually know their customer. Ask for an account manager. They are generally very helpful. Good Luck
