What everybody else said. I started boating in Maine in the Atlantic with a 242 Formula.

First one out in the spring, last one out in the fall.....

I was told if you're gonna run in salt water... spray down everything in the engine compartment with wd-40 or equivalent.... this will put a film of oil on the engines and all things metal so salt water won't touch...then after you can rinse off with fresh water and eveything is protected...
