Worlds fastest 36 Nortech!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

This the Baddest 36 Nortech to date!!!!It keeps getting faster!!!It has 2 Keith Eickert 1400s in it and is maintained by Marine Performance in Port Orange FL.It now has been as fast as 178 with 4 people,3/4 of a tank of PUMP GAS!!!Not bad for an open canopy.Anyone from E-dock want to give it a try? :D :D

Wow, those are some impressive stats. Must be kinda sketchy in a 36' cat. Screw that, any boat would be sketchy at that speed!

Not one to flame, but an MTI with less HP will see those numbers, and besides why do you want to run 178 MPH in an open canopy boat, it does not sound very safe to me.

No :D , but I got into an arguement with a guy Sunday night about that boats' top speed. Of course, he also claimed Xtreme Xzibit wasn't very fast either. :rolleyes:

42 MTI equipped with Mercury 1075's with 38 pitch Herrings ran in excess of 160 MPH.

So it's 3 mph faster than the Nor-tech with 1075's and how much lighter, and is a race boat with the top of the canopy cut off. Jc is giving us too much credit they are 1300's :evilb:

I guess we will not know until the Miami boat show week, my 42 MTI has 1100 HP EFI Sterlings and I should see 165 plus with the proper props, I will ask Mike at Sterling if we can turn them up to 1250 HP, put some bigger props on it and then take it out and see what it will do for top end. Again I ask the question top end is only a number, why do you want to run that fast in an open canopy boat. Again, I am not flaming, both Tron and Terry will both tell you, they do not build race boats or could care less about kilo runs. I doubt very seriously if Nor Tech ever intended for one of their boats to be pushed to 178 MPH.

Actually that boat ran 162 per J.T. it was not proped for top end. He thought 170+ would not be problem with 40 wheels and 1.24 gears. But as i said it was proped for fun and acceleration.
I haven't seen any No-Techs run anywhere close to 160 with 1075's.

How's it going Billy.
I honestly don't know and I don't think Kent or Scism know either. He never really got to run it hard last yr. As you know he keeps it at LOTO which isn't exactly the best place to stretch it out, boat traffic and very curvey. But mostly because he had engine issues, I lost track at 5 or 6 broken blowershafts. You know how that story goes. Anyway Sarasota would have been a good spot had the water been a little more helpful. How's the new project coming.

Well they're already in the MTI, so maybe you can put a set a Nor-Tech and we can find out this summer.

Pretty good considering the amount of work involved. The steps on the engine compartment are glassed in and they have the new cockpit liner and top section are just about built but not glassed in yet and nothing on the new windshield yet. They still expect it to be in Miami. I think it will make it but I'm not betting.

If we are hitting speeds of 178 mph now in a 36 Nortech will 225mph be possible in ten years with all the new advances we are seeing in the powerboat industry. BTW 178 mph is to damn fast for me.
