How much for a 24 pantera?

I had a question it has nothing to do with any boat that are in the oso classified. How much would yall pay for a late 70's 24 pantera w/o motor w/o front bolster with trs drive and no hydrolic steering. old throttle, old switch for drive and tabs and all functions of the boat (all from the 70's) updated hatch and rear bench and nice paint job. how much would yall pay  .Thanks in adavance

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

6-7g at most!

Figure 10 for engine.
3 for external steering.
5-6 new interior
5 for new gauges and rigging.

Thats about 30g.

thedonz 11-30-2005 02:01 PM

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

well it has new gauges but not so many , it has old throttles from the 70's along with old swetiches and stuff and it does have an updated engine hatch and rear bench and front bolsters but i told him to keep the front bolster cause i'm 6'3 so i would have to convert it to a sit down . i was thinking like 8k the most

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

7-8 is what i had b4 i edited.
but whats the diff... you'll be near 30 when all is said and done.
if i'm wrong w/ that let me know how you break it down.

5K max unless you really enjoy working on old stuff. I had a 1972 Sutphen and whenever I fixed one thing, I found two other things that needed fixing as well. Just go into the project knowing that you will never get all of the $$$ back that you put into it!!

I agree, thats why another 2-3g ain't gonna make much of a difference on the buy side.
Unless you want the project, you'd be better off finding one done.

I would think you would be lucky if the guy let the boat go for 5g's w/o the motor. He probably has that wrapped up in the paint. Have you seen the boat personally?

mike, what you looking to do w/ the boat?

Stormrider 11-30-2005 03:22 PM

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

hey... its was a 95 and i got a bit more than that.
anyway... sometimes its better to get a boat thats done, unless you do all the work yourself and have some ins w/ goods.
I had alot more into the boat than what i sold it for, but its only worth what someone is willing to pay. and i wasn't going to sit w/ it for a year waiting for a few more G.

Anyway, that 79 is mint. All its need is seats, a motor, tabs, hyd steering.
and like i said... some vinyl wrap. :D

But try to get some pricing to get it done and do the math 1st.
If you're gonna race.. that LadyL would be cool.
Have Laz Mesa go thru those 350s.

chit what else does it need, like if that's not enough but unless he works on the price i have a feeling that boat will be sitting for a longggggggggggg time. BTY which is LadyB

I have video footage of LadyL in '89 absolutely HAMMERING through 4-6's with nice whitecaps off New Jersey. Water so big 41 Apaches were getting out of shape (just a little). I think I'll grab a beer and go watch that.

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

The motors in the pictures on yachtworld are small blocks. But I suppose they could be 454 small blocks.

Sounds cool. I bet that video alone could sell that boat.

mike, the glass work would be cosmetic.
if ya really like it... jet blue can get ya round trip for well under 200. :chick:

Re: How much for a 24 pantera?

I Wouldnt even consider buying it. Buy the time you get done
you'll have more into a 30 year old boat than you could buy
a late 90's boat for. Don't just consider the big stuff. Its all the
little stuff that kills ya. Not to mention the structural items like
the transom and stringer rot. How about the fuel tank?? Another
headache if that takes a dump on you. I just aint worth it. Even
newer boats always need some kind of repairs. That will keep
you busy enough.
