But I have always said since I was in high school, American justice is whatever you can buy, the more money the better it is. Not like that has ever been different here or anywhere else. He is just one of many.

At least three witnesses told investigators they saw Wittenberns and his wife racing each other seconds before the crash.

Court documents state Wittenberns reached a minimum speed of 75 miles per hour within one city block. The speed quickly dropping to 38 miles per hour when he collided head-on with Smith’s SUV.

The elderly Uber driver died at a hospital while his wife waited for him at home.

Police said Wittenberns's blood alcohol level was .02 over the legal limit.
