The day you have to worry about what other people say is when THEY are paying your bills. As long as you're picking up your own tab, who cares what they think? Do whatever you can get away with noise-wise without being inconsiderate to your fellow boaters. I thought the remarks about Michelle were rude and uncalled for. Jealous bastards. Coz |
Just read that thread on the other site. Entertaining indeed.
I kinda feel that it'sTravis' boat and he can have it the way he likes it. I would like to see a video clip of it's loudness. |
Glad you got a chance to check out the entertainment over there. I won't make it to the run this weekend either. I have family stuff with the kiddo as well.
It was nice to hear your side of the story/stories. I still stand by my statement that it isn't cool to be revving engines in a rude/ inconsiderate manner. However, It sounds as though some peoples depictions of events were highly embellished. If people ask to hear it, I would give it to them also. josh farrell 36' Apache "Indian Giver" |
As most of you probably already know I met Travis, his wife Michelle and his son Austin when I surveyed "White Lightning" for them before they bought it.
Unless I'm going color blind, his hair is not red. When he was here it wasn't long enough to be a mullet or be in any ponytail. He is a family oriented, polite and respectful man. His wife is a total fox and one of the sweetest women I've ever met. She sent me a birthday card with a letter!! Who does that these days? Whoever said anything about her looks either has poor eyesight or didn't get close enough. When Travis first got the boat to LOTO, I know he had some carburetor and power valve issues. Those 1000s hate to idle anyway and until they are dialed-in properly they load up like gas is free. I'm sure Travis never meant to offend anyone. The guys hiding behind screen names on that other sight are low-rent to be making remarks about a guy they don't even know and his WIFE! I'm glad we here at OSO are kept to higher standards. Edward R. Cozzi Never hidden behind a screen name or ever will. |
If it is worth anything, my haircut has been made fun over there before as well. Someone told me I was due for a haircut after they saw me drive past them the previous weekend.
I tend to not let people's opinions bother me, but talkin about the wife and family is shootin below the belt! |
Travis,
The comments on the other site toward you and your family were out of line. It's amazing what people will write when they don't have to say it to someones face. The irony is that you were getting railed on by mostly a group of people from the party cove.....did they not expect to hear a loud boat at party cove....is it offending them???? It's like going to a bar and complaining about the smoke:drink: I try to stay out of things like this but you seem like the type of guy that would help a stranger on the side of the road and I don't think the people making judgements even knew you. Hope to hear a full throttle pass this summer. Later man. CTA |
Travis, et al.
As owner of MWBP, let me apologize for the unnecessary comments about your wife. Sometimes mob mentality rules, and people get wound up in something and say things that not only aren't true, but things they don't necessarily mean. I'm sure your wife is a lovely person, and again accept my apology on behalf of MWBP. The thread in question has been removed as no one benefits from continued mud slinging and name calling. All have had their say, and its time to move on. I think the cooler heads on both sites will realize that the vast majority of people that boat will get along anytime anywhere. As members of large forums, you also must agree that sometimes things take on a life of their own, and reason goes out the window for the sake of continued drama. While I was in Party Cove over Memorial Day, and your revving engines were the talk of a large group of people that couldn't understand the point, I feel that the thread turned to unfair personal attacks and that is not what MWBP wants to promote. Lets agree to disagree on who does and who doesn't like to hear your motors and let by-gones be by-gones. There are plenty of people that love the boat and would kindly have a cold one with you, so lets leave it like that. Sincerely, Jeff Huebner aka Dr. Jeff Owner/Admin Midwestboatparty.com |

As my buddy Roper says, you got a kick azz boat and I look forward to seeing it every weekend. Also, I've got my 8 yr old daughter with me here at the Lake all summer, how old are your kids. PM me sometime and we can meet up with the kids at the swim beach over at Frankie & Louies. Mike Caffrey |

j/k! :evilb: |
Thats whats wrong with the internet. People talk smack till they see you them out somewhere than its all smiles. The computer is passing alcohol for the most false induced courage.:(
|
DR. Jeff, well put.
Travis, still waiting to see some video of your awesome boat, with sound of course. :D |
Travis, don't worry about what anybody on that site says about you, most are jealous that they don't have half the boat you have, the rest, well, just read the rest of the threads about the stuff they complain about, it's always something. Some over there would only be happy when they are the only boat on the lake. You have to wonder about a boating site that rates its members by their alcohol usage.

What a jerk off!!! You're a piece of work... |
Sean H- I happen to be a member of MWBP.com and feel it is a great site. Over the years, I've become close friends with many of them, same as I did here. Just like OSO, the board has a diverse group of members, some of which are good people and some of which are douche bags. Before you go stereotyping the whole board, I would suggest you take a minute to get to know the people face to face.
Travis Reed / "White Lightening" - Your boat is a cool 95-98mph boat. Everyone knows the original owner spent fortune to build it and anyone would be lucky to own it. I enjoy seeing and evening listening to your boat run, but you don't have to shove it down the throats of LOTO boaters by driving around with your hatches up, rapping on the throttles when some drunk jackazz with beeds asks you to and claiming on an internet board that your boat will run 122mph. You have a great boat and everyone already knows it.....you have no need to prove it. Your efforts to justify the "coolness" of your boat really does nothing more than give powerboaters a bad name. Regarding the comments towards your wife, you have every right to be mad. I've kicked a few teeth in for less. It was disrespectful to you, your wife and your family. On behalf of the non-douche bag members of MWBP.com, I apologize. All in all, I think you have a cool boat and seem to probably be a pretty cool guy.......you may just want to tone it down a bit though. No disrespect intended........then again, with a name like Cat Huntin', you've got to expect a little bit of controversy. Good luck. Chad |
Yeah Sean, dont you ever speak badly about alcohol again!!!!:evilb:
I just had to wite something in this thread.

Hey, how about we agree that everybody on both sides is a douche bag and drop the whole thing.
There's nothing wrong with loud boats. (reving or not) There's nothing wrong with alcohol. If you don't like either, join a country club......"Gambling is iiilllleeegal at Bushwood" |

Travis,
A few years ago, when I bought my boat, we launched it for the first time. Engines were brand new so I had to set the timing. Ran the boat for 5 minutes at the dock to set the timing and down the dock comes the hostess from the Restaurant at our marina... She said to my sister, "The boat is really lound and customers are complaining. How long are you going to be here." My sister says; "We're going to be here the whole season."..... :) Later that day I come back from our test run and one of the needle/seats on my carb is hanging up and dumping fuel into the motor and I could barely keep it running... Idle for a second, take it out of gear, rev it and hold at 2500 for a second, then dump it in gear to get back into my slip.... Fast forward a few hours and I'm hanging out with some friends at the bar in the marina. One of the boat owners walks up to me, hammered, and says; "Ya know, everyone at the marina has to listen to your engines every time you rev them up." I had a few in me and said to the guy; "Hey buddy, it's a marina with a lot of other performance boats, you're just gonna have to deal with it." Guy was pissed off and walked away, never bothered me again.... :) |

Sorry if I offended you buy asking for "pics of the chick in the bikini" Not my intention at all to disrespect your wife. I tend to like to look at pictures of hot women just as much as I do hot boats. No doubt your boat is cool, and I doubt anyone could argue with that fact. |

The quoet about trying to impress and that he has no balls by the fake edock36guy is so boguss, I commend him for not flying up and down the lake. This guy in one of the baddest and craziest out there but with great respect for others, I will close by saying this.... If he has not changed wich I dout very much he would never start any trouble or try to impress anyone, but since you guys kept making **** up and that comment about his wife WOW I truly would not want to be one of you guys, HE WILL NOT QUIT ON THIS NO MATTER WHAT. Here is one last think I know about him wich would probley get me in trouble, he is a very private donator to kids charities :evilb: |
