Default How much pressure?

I have a pair of Magnum 454’s with Bravo One drives, that I believe are stock, in a 1989 Scarab III. I am told that the engines had recent overhauls prior to my buying the boat but who knows…. The leak downs on the cylinders I am told are good from a local shop however.

My question is, would these engines take 3 – 5 pounds of boost from a set of blowers? They run great now and I’ve read of people bolting superchargers and blowers on to stock engines with favorable results. How much boost are these engines capable of handling?

I put 2.3 Whipples on mine with no problems at around 4-5 lbs of boost. The 454 mag's are great candidates for blowers.

Are your engines carb's or F.I.? What made you decide on that set up vursus a BDS or some other 8-71?

Thanks for the feedback.
