That was a waste to destroy that windshield. Foam and duct tape would have satisfied the officials.

I agree, hell some of the boats that year just used cardboard and duct tape on the windshields (lots of windshields as I recall :D ) . I suspect that boat must still be around somewhere-it was called Triple Play and I think they did a feature in Powerboat on it.

YES, There was one 50' SCARAB Built by Team Scarab in california.
The hull and deck were built in Orange County, Then it was moved to the "SKUNK" Works in Ventura Ca. to be removed from the mold and the Hull and deck were glassed and some rigging was done.
The molds then went back to O.C. and the Boat went to Corona Ca.for Final full rigging.
The Boat was done for the Drambuie Company in Scotland and was raced around the British Isles and set and number of True Offshore records.
The Boat met a untimely end on the Railroad tracks in Miami Florida when the driver towing it got it High Centrered on the railroad tracks and when he went to call for help it got hit by a train.
TRUE STORY
The Mold was cut up to make the Bottom for a 63ft SCARIB.
The SCARIB a Ridged Bottom Inflatable was never finished as far as I know.
The End.....Mike J.

If I remember right, there was a Wellcraft dealer right where Casey's and Culvers sits in the early 90's and they had that monster on display. Of course we had to pull in and take a look "Triples" no way! :D
