RonP,

I have been out 4 times so far. Riding has been between terrible and excellent. My buddy went yesterday and said it was phenominal. I am going with the wife EARLY EARLY EARLY Saturday morning to beat the crowds. Been waiting for the riding to improve in Canada to go away with the boys for 4 or 5 days.

Kurt, Wayne said there was no good riding yet in Maine! Should we consider heaing up that way?

A couple weeks ago we trailered 3 hours and I put a whopping 34 miles on the new 2002 ZR800 efi and my buddy put the same on my 580 efi on crappy trails

We got some snow yesterday (4-5") but no base. Next weekend we'll have a bunch of us together for "Tip-up-town" so maybe we'll actually get to use these things a bit (if the lake is still frozen)

Unhappy

Well today was one heck of a day!
I live at the mouth of a river going into a lake, the river does not freeze and there is a big field next to the river. Sometimes I`ll rip across the field at about 80 or so and cross about 200 ft of open water and then you hit the ice It is a blast and I`ve been doing it for years and never had a problem. Today I had a non snowmobiling friend visit and I let him ride this old Polaris Indy Trail. We were in the field and I shot past him and ran the open water I looked back as I hit the ice and the guy on the old Polaris had FOLLOWED ME across the water. he sunk half way across and swam to the shore Luckily he was fine , we ran him into the house and he changed immediatly into some warm clothes then we got out the jon boat and went fishin for a sled. We hooked it right away and motored it to shore. Then the ambulance. sherrif and game warden arrived They were not happy with us. Got the sled back in the house and we had it running 1/2 hr later Just glad he was OK!
The law said not to do that anymore!

Kurt.

Kurt now that sounds like living on the edge and a ton of fun. One of these days I need to get a ride on one of those snow toys.

Kurt,

Water skipping is a BLAST! Glad to hear you had a good time and your friend is well. Saturday went riding with the wife and she smoked the motor on her 600. Yesterday I took HOTBOAT riding for his 2nd time. Trials were good but can use more snow. Going to Canada on February 6th we hope!
