For those who know, Cigarette Racing Team is the official name of the Cigarette company....it doesn't mean it is a former racing boat.
Now the last word, Performer, is the name of a company that built 40 foot boats that looked like the 40 foot Cigarette. The comapny was owned by Bill Elswick, a former racer.
This triple engine boat looks like the Miami Boat Show boat from Performer for 1977. Also in 1977, Open class had a cubic inch restriction of 1,000 ....so there were no triple engine race boats.
I would say that this boat is not a Cigarette, and it is also not a former race boat. It may be a great buy for other reasons, but not if you are looking for a former race boat.

Thanks for the info...I did not know Performer built a 40...I thought it was just the 33 an 36?

Here she is with HORBA board member Bobby Saccenti, winning the first ever Benihana race.
