Truth be told I doubt that there was a wave over 18 inches in that entire race........ I was in it. There may have been a small groundswell.

That boat was so light it simply tore itself apart running in calm water.

In the picture of Little Fayva, that set of Arnesons is the very first set of production drives. The first time we ran it, Howard had installed the trim rams right side up, with the cylinder on top and the ram sticking out the bottom. It bent the rams like fishhooks. He turned them upside down and they worked fine. That boat ran 126 mph, about 15 mph faster than the standard Class 1 boat.

You know a lot of guys talk about Don Aronow, they knew him, they had lunch with him,etc. etc......well here is picture of our very own Brownie riding with Don, in the Houston Channel race in the 008 28 foot Donzi...... running under #19....in the background is Merrick Lewis with #327 who had to be airlifted from the boat after hurting his back.

I was out testing with Sammy James we were running @105 Anglo and Ritchie came past us in the Fayva cat like we were stopped. Sammy cut the test short that day! I think it was 1981

But what I saw was how a cat should run .

I don't believe anybody ever raced one of those...... How could you?....The pace boats were faster.
