Years ago I put a pair of Trick-Flow Twisted Wedge aluminum heads on a 406 SBC with a solid roller cam and headers. The difference was unbelievable! I have that engine in a stock-looking 1968 Firebird coupe. It has a tricked-out 400 THM with a 2500 stall converter.

Do you think in my setup 671's should be looked at. I know they're not the latest and greatest (1071???) but that's not what I'm going for. I don't think 671's are the weak link or could they be.

berman, most everyone has given great info. Your combination is fine, let CM figure where the failure was, what caused it,decide on what to do and get it done! It's not really that critical.........great parts, expert assembly, common sense..........it stays together.

berman,
You could contact site member rmbuilder/Marine Kinetics. Great source for info, advice, and good prices on AFR's. He's big into R&D and a very knowledgeable guy.
Funny, I've read a few of blaster's posts....he is just a bit rough around the edges LOL
