Great Lake Silver Cup Series. I do not know if it is first for LOTO or not. They are a division of APBA. Real nice people!

The old US Offshore group held some races at LOTO in the past, early to mid 90's.

Talking

As Katdrvr said, US Offshore raced here back in the mid 90's. There has been a lot of interest since, So we are in the process of securing permits and sponsorship.
Be patient, details will be available soon.

Cool

All of you LOTO people, give Gordo some help in securing sponsors for this race.

I was boating in a 20' bow rider the day before one of those races, doing about 40mph. Think it was in Sept, and the lake was pretty empty. Heard a rattle from behind me, and turned to see a helecopter flying low and fast straight towards me, right up my 6. It passed close by on the port side, maybe 30' off the water. Guy hanging out the side with a TV camera. Out of the corner of my eye I see a red flash with a yellow flame and a huge rooster tail fly by on the SB side. There must have been a 100mph difference in our speeds. Turns out it was Gus Arnison(sp?) in his turbine powered cat doing a promotional spot for TV. If anyone saw it, that little yellow blur on the screen for a split second was me!

Chart,

I remember that run. I saw the helicopter and the Arneson (I think it is Howard) boat hauling ass. You were lucky his boat didn't suck you through his intake.
