If you bridge that amp, you should have just enough power to run that, but it will not "punch you in the spleen". Also, that speaker was designed for a cabinet and not free-air installations. Meaning it wasn't designed to be mounted in the bench seat......according to the manufacturer.

This was an incredible set-up. However, the stereo was removed before I purchased the boat.

What is your idea about that ???...any advice
Thank to take time
Unsane ...do you think my Kicker ( Kicker Km10 for the sub and Kicker Kx150.2 for the amp) going to be good with this new info ???

UNSANE 12-10-2006 11:12 AM

Re: Stereo Systems in your boats!!!!

The KM 10 still requires a cabinet according to Kicker which means you shouldn't install it in the bench seat. The amp does match up with it. It won't be very loud (compared to what I use in my concerts) but if you are just listening to regular run of the mill rock music, you should be ok.

Now your main speakers should be ok because you have plenty of amp power. There are better speaker choices though.

The KM10 hammers in either a sealed or vented box (150 watts RMS power handling) ......... i read it on the website ???.... vented what they mean ???.... rear bench is vented ?? ....
Thank`s to take time

Re: Stereo Systems in your boats!!!!

They mean a speaker cabinet, not the rear bench seat. A vent is a hole in a speaker cabinet. This hole (vent) or a tube (port) is there to alter how the subwoofer sounds. Although I don't like them because of their sound (I preferred sealed), it will make the subwoofer a little louder. Try looking at the Rockford Fosgate Marine 10" subs or JL Audio makes these as well. These speakers were designed to be put in a bench seat for example, they don't need a speaker cabinet to operate properly.

Hell, I'd get 2 of those and put them in the bench seat. :evilb:
In fact that amp will power one speaker just fine, but it also matches up with 2 of them just perfectly! You don't even need to buy another amp, just add a speaker and I will show you how to wire it up!!! Buy more boom boom!!!! You know you want to!!!!

I would agree with this especially if you are
dealing with pro level systems with processing.
Couple of Nexo Ps8s and a single Nexo sub with
the processor (or equivalent system) would
not only sound clear but would sound clear way past
any level a car audio grade system could achieve
and still sound good..
SPL isnt everything.
Problem is where do you put them suckers?

You're not running a high power system, so the alt should be fine. A capacitor wouldn't hurt though. 1 Fahrad should be more than enough.

what is my best choice .....
1- Speaker to RCA adaptor LF RF LR RR
2- EQ
3- Crossover
and don't forget i have a sub ( Rockford M110S4 ) to wiring to one amp Kicker zx 400.1 mono ...i think to use the rear audio out of my head unit ...

Re: Stereo Systems in your boats!!!!

mines pretty simple...4 6x9 infinity kappa's (old ones) panasonic head unit, sunstream? amp (gold in color, old, no real decernable markings) and for the sub, I have an old RF 12 in a carvin stage monitor cab..cheap system, since mst is used, got it from a friend who does car adio so he set me up with good used stuff. as for the sub and box, its got push terminals, so when Im not in the boat, I pull it and throw it in my explorer..makes it harder to steal that way.....

I would just split the rear speaker pre amp leads with a Female to dual male splitter.
