How far south are you talkin? The one at Mackinaw City is very nice. Sheboygan ramp also fine. Traverse City sucked last time I was there but that was two years ago and they were plannning a rehab of the municipal marina. South Haven municipal is ok but can be a ***** if the river is fast.

TC still sucks if you have anything more than 18ft. Plus ther is no breakwall so with a North wind you get beat to death even on a Jet Ski. We have Grand Haven, Saugatuck, South Haven, Spring Lake, We have it all. No one can beat us we are the Wiz.

Dude,
How about Sterling State Park near Monroe, it IS south of Detroit!! I was real impressed with it last year, launched the 38 with no problems, dumps you out on the River Raisin, great for trips to Put In Bay.

Donzi Mitch,
Don't launch at Clinch Park, keep going up 22 towards Suttons Bay, just about 2-3 miles up from where 37 ends, Elmwood township launch, they have 5 ramps, nice and deep, but sometimes parking is tight. The waterways Commision ok'd 10 million for Clinch Park, but some tight asses in town were against it, I always end up in Northport!
