Thank`s for the link ..(one of the 2 i already have) ...the one talking about the small ship ....make me feel little short ...but here up north ...we have Atalntic Ocean ... and i see big wave here to .... but like i said if the wave to big we are going in the quieter water ...Key West

I think your English is very good as compared to some people on here, and it's their native language. HAHA I know one thing, your English is a hole lot better than my French, by the way, I've been to Quebec twice and fell in love with it, even though I HATE cold weather. Best of luck! I'm sure it will be a blast heading to the Bahamas, especially with 4 other boats running with you. Take lots of pictures and have fun.

Atlantis Marina is real nice, and I'm sure expensive too, how much are they charging you??

We have to reserve early ..(last Week) because not much place left ... when we call ...he charge us 3.50$ /feet and 40 feet minimum ( a total of 140$ for a 25 Outlaw ) ...but we have access of all the resort ...like i said it will be one time in life trip like that :drink: !!!!

No Jf i supposed to take a 29 Outlaw.... he buy it in the region of Boston this Winter .... i think he is not a real guy of Sunsation ... :D , the 32 SS is not sold at this time ... but he think its not supposed to take long time before he gone .....But the Doc Binnete change is boat for a 45 Sonic (3 Bulldog) ....i think we going to have a great trip :evilb:

Good luck with your trip. Here is a tip that not all Canadians are aware of. Before you leave Florida for the Bahamas you must go into a US Customs office [ probably Ft Laud or Miami ] and complete some forms and pay a small charge for a User Fee Decal. Also check in with them immediately upon your return to USA. The first time I crossed in 1991 I did not follow this procedure and they harassed me for 4hours and threatened to seize my boat. While I am not up on the current requirements I expect they can only be tougher and you should check. The penalties can be severe.
Also invest in a Bahamas Cruising guide. Lots of good helpful info. Available at most major Marine retailers in south Florida.

We are cover from 100 miles from coast of Florida ....350$ a week of surcharge .... :eek: ....and we supposed to be on water 9 to 10 day .... ask to Marie-Jo ..and come with us !!!...i think is going to be a great trip :drink:

Nassau is further than 100 miles.

Be VERY careful of the weather and GAS. The keys are a better bet if you feel adventurous take a day trip to the Dry Tortugas.

Better do some checking on your coverage. It is 150 miles out to Nassau/ Paradise Island. :eek:

Yes we know it`s much more than 100 miles to Nassau .....but we have to take a chance sometime in life to do something different !!!! :D... i am much scare to drive my boat down to Florida ...than boating on the blue water of the Bahamas .... :evilb:

If Paradise Island is 100-150 miles away. You need to consider the gas tank capacity of your boat. Your boat gets great gas mileage, however if the Seas get rough and you are forced to work the sticks you will blow through a tank of gas real quick.Is there anywhere to stop on the way for a quick fill up? Maybe another Island?
I'm not discouraging you in anyway, I want to see you do it and want to hear all the details when it's done.

Yes all our route is made ...and the longest streach is 85 miles ...and i can make 200 miles at 45 Mph ....it`s supposed to be Ok for the trip .....thank`s to take care of us ....

p.s. did you know where i can find a chart for the minimal safety equipement for vessel under 25 Feet ? cause i am pretty sure the Canadian law and Us law are not the same and i don`t want any problem with coast gard !!!!!!

If you do it to Nassau, I would strongly suggest the use of a REV4 (you have tested one last summer) it will significantly increase your MPG at 45 mph... 85 miles seems realistic in GOOD sea conditions. You may also consider bringing a gas transfer device so you can suck some out of your friend's boat(45 SONIC) if you ever need gas! :D

I did it with the Fountain in 1989 it's an interesting trip but I like the keys better. More predicatable than some backward places in the Bahamas. My main concern would be breaking down in those places.

Plus I doubt my insurance dude would be thrilled with me in the Bahamas!

Absolutely a must have for a trip like this. A simple thing like running out of gas could turn into a major problem.

I ran my 38 Cigarette from West Palm Beach FL over to Port Lucaya in glass calm seas in January a few yrs ago. The next day (I still have the weather fax from the marina) the forecast was 8-10' seas, "higher in the gulf stream". WATCH THE WEATHER!!!!!!!!
The boat burned a 1/2 tank of fuel on the way over. I filled it all the way up even though my buddy thought I was nuts to pay that much for fuel he said we didn't need. We had to leave two days later with the same 8-10' plus seas. We ran behind a 128' yacht during the worst of the conditions.
The boat burned 3/4 of a tank :eek: Always top off before the crossing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok only nine day before the big day .......!!!!! but before we have to prepare the boat ......i bring the boat to my brother-in- law garage .....because this last saturday the temperature reach - 22 celcius ...very cold (and with the wind it`s crazy) we hope to have a much more hot day in florida :rolleyes:
