Merrill Powerboats Experience
At the end of last summer I purchased a used 39 cigarette boat from Chris Merrill. He gave me a warranty on the engines. Unfortunatley I had one of the engines sustain major damage. The reason to post this is, he is standing behind his warranty. With companies like Profile that care nothing about their customers, I think it should be known that Chris Merrill is a man of his word, and I never would see him blowing any of his customers off with, "I need to get back to my Life." As Profile said to Dean.
As someone who purchased a boat from Chris Merrill I would recommend him. He has some nice looking Cats and has made some versions of the 50 Cary.

Jeremy Berman

One of the nice things about OSO is being able to let the public interact with one antoher in a truly open form, as a group we are a pretty smart bunch, this forum lets us put all that intelligence together and learn from each other. If you are a crook you hate this, and if you are a straight up guy you love it.
Thanks for positng about Merrill, that nugget has been tucked away for what ever purposes may come up later. Gald you were treated well, and not profiled (screwed).

I drove over to Merrill's a couple winters ago to look at an 88 Top Gun he had for sale. He had redone all the engines and all the paint work meticuloulsy...the interior was still a bit rough so it was a no-go for wifely reasons, but Chris still chatted me up for over an hour about not only that boat, but just about the entire history of offshore...the man knows his stuff. Saw that 39 there...an 81 I believe? Gorgeous boat...I could not believe it was that old! Also, OSO member Doug had his 90 MPH Edition Gun (called "Next" at the time, now "Pure Adrenaline") there as well. He's got the mold for the 50 foot Cary, extended it three feet, and put 4 motors in it...damn impressive stuff for the hinterlands of Indiana!

i think we looked at the 88 he did at lake cumberland marine. for the cary mold. did he stretch it 3 feet and add 4 more engines? i know the 50 already came with 4 engines. just curious. does he do the paint work himself? anyone have a site or number/adress on him? thanks
