Russ, I know you have seen the above link to my boat, but you owe it to yourself to at least drive down and look at. You will not be disappointed. I challenge you to find a stress crack anywhere! The cockpit is identical to the 380 and the only difference in the cabin is the wrap around couch is about 12" longer.
I will be happy to take you for a ride later next month after the freeze threat minimizes.

How about Fred's Hustler? http://www.offshoreonly.com/esvon/page-8535.html ask what he'd take, can't hurt.
At leats no one recommended a 35' Fountain, its almost the same size as your 311 (311's didn't include swim platform and din't have a beak so was a big 31 for todays standards)

Macklin: Yours looks clean but I'm concerned It's not enough addlitional LOA to what I already have. I planned on jumping up more than 3 ft in length. (but who knows how the cards will fall)

Just looked at some more info on a 38 Donzi zx. Huge boat with a wide beam, but have you seen what they weigh!!!!
I thought these may be a good choice until I see 11,500 dry weight. Anyone have one..Likes or dislikes???

There are lot of 38 Scarabs for sale in that range, with NICE motors and creature comforts. Might even find a 42 for that price..
Also my 38 is longer than 42 feet including the trailer and drives... Just so you know
