Unless its on the trailer, then you are parking it. Now, if you leave the trailer attached to it when you launch, its called stupid.

It is docking NOT parking. Lines are not ropes, although it is ok to call a ski line a ski rope.

There is "Helm"..The steering unit {Wheel or tiller} Then there is "Helm Station"....

Lines,Fenders,Docking.....And....You dont "tie up"...You "Make it fast"..

I was hoping we could learn stuff we don't know about on this post. I really don't care if you call your line a rope or if you call your bumpers fenders, or if you dock or park your boat., etc........

Somebody please explain to me what crashboxes are?

Somebody please explain to me what crashboxes are?
on boats, tey are transmissions with out clutches, so turn off the engines to shift into and out of gears, the dont break cuz they are gear to gear direct drive. on airplanes they are the lil black boxes in the cockpit

They also come in "shiftable", no need to turn off engines
anymore.

Ok, how about freeboard?

Don't be looking this stuff up in the boating dictionary. I'm not headed in that direction with this thread. It's about what you think something is, not what the dictionary say it is...

And slippage? does the prop actually loose grip (for lack of a better word)?
