Think about the guy filling up the 85 hatteras for a day or two of fishing . diesel at like 3 a gal on the water. Filling up my 100g in the scarab is well worth the day on the water! Trailering this year though , put the slip fees in the tank!

Last summer at $3.00+ , if I was going any distance I would tow part way.. I mean 10 gallons of diesel and $6.00 bridge toll is a lot cheaper than the extra 70 gallons of gas to get down to the Chesapeake and back. Since I retired I haven't had too many $350 dollar lunches

I used to do some fishing with my cousin that had a 50+ sport fish. He was on the phone while we were still almost an hour out getting prices for the fish. Most times we keep about 100lbs for the guys on the boat and the rest was sold to pay for the fuel. Amazing how accurate someone can be with a gaff when you know the fish will be sold. A Gaff to the body of the fish and it's almost worthless.
