Help....a/c water pickup
My a/c installer is wanting to use a brass grated water pickup mounted through the hull on my 353 Fastech. What are other people using and where are they mounted? This pickup looks like a "bump" on the bottom with a grate. He says it will not affect the boat like a clam shell type. I wanted him to use a fitting similar to the bilge dumps (a little more flush) but he is worried about trash getting into the hole. Any thoughts?

Re: Help....a/c water pickup
Several of the local guys have put a P/U on the transom near the drain plugs. These can be similar to the live well tank intakes (w/ screens) used on bass boats. They are out of the water when running yet well below the water line when sitting still. The P/U your installer wants to use is good for express cruisers that run A/C while underway.
