Gonna order some Flat Fenders for the boat.....they look like they store a hell of alot better then round ones.....but what size do you think will work best on a 25' boat......any one ever use these ? Do they protect the boat well ?........John

Round is best. They are bulky I agree but I think they provide more protection to the boats being rafted together in case of wakes or waves. A little cushion goes a long way preventing Gel Coat repair. Don't skimp on your bumpers. But the biggest round ones you can find!!!

I agree with Titan
I have a cat (flat sides no rub rail) and I have sets of both. For Florida and some of the lakes, protected docking in most cases, I will use the flat fenders. For docking up north, Barnegat Bay, Hudson River, LI, or rafting get the biggest round fenders you can fit on your boat.
I found they are almost useless when tied off to a bulked or dock with pilings like we have up north.

I'd agree. They work well on small cats tied to other cats that don't pitch and yaw much when at anchor, but not on V-hulls.
Go with the Polyform Brand from BoatersWorld.com .

Yup ..get the big round ones , they work the best. I leave my boat in all summer with three round ones hanging from the dock posts and not a scratch. I let them hang so they roll with the boat instead of rubbing and scuffing.
