HUSTLER26 - imitation is the greatest form of flattery!

Hurry, Hurry summer is running out soon. Good luck with that power head Phillip, see you soon.

Screamin Demon---- Actually it's the quickest form of ripoff.

ScreaminDemon 09-20-2001 04:06 PM

That too!

Hustler 26 09-21-2001 02:49 AM

T2X. I understand your feelings about rip-off. Still however do you consider the Signature hull a good hull. Thanks.

ScreaminDemon 09-21-2001 07:44 AM

Tommy Adams "popped" the Signature hull directly from the magnum!

Hustler 26--- The best answer I can give you is it was a "fair" hull. It was very derivative, that is much like others of the time. The boats did "okay" in heads up competition against Cigarettes, Corsa's, Excalibur's etc. There is/was nothing especially good or bad about them, other than that they had ( in my opinion) a unique and attractive deck styling. They were prone to stuffing and some pundits nick-named them "Signature Submarines" because of that.

As far as Hustlers of today.... I have to agree with Phillip... Put enough Horsepower in anything decent and you'll get some kind of speed.....If you survive.... Basically, today's vees are 40 year old technology that were designed for 60-70 mph top speeds. In spite of the fact that top riggers and builders have certainly exceeded those speeds and, in some cases huge length (Up to 50 feet for chrissakes) has increased the scale speed, they are still not designed for anywhere near the mph that the power is taking them to..... Best advice for high speed vee owners:

1. be very careful
2. If you want real speed and control, buy a Cat..... It's not even close enough for intelligent debate anymore.

T2,

..really enjoying your posts..since you seem to be very familiar with Sutphen, what do you know about Inferno (now spystuff4u.com), the 30' raceboat?...I've raced in her twice this year (Ft.Myers/Cleveland) and would like to purchase her to run here in Jersey with OPA/SBI...to have some fun...

Also had the pleasure of meeting Rich Sutphen Jr. in Cleveland..really nice guy..and was very happy to see the ol' girl!
;)

T2,

..also would like to know your opinion on Phantom. They seem to be different from other V-bottom designs..you don't see many of 'em spinout like other stepped boats either..??

Thanks,

Marty
